PAU PYRENEES - Ance, Pyrenees-Atlantiques - self-contained holiday gites at the foothills of the Pyrenees in the heart of the Bearn region, very much rural France at its best!

Les Granges have been refurbished by Sharon and Clive Cooper and consist of 2 self-contained gites, La Grange (sleeps 4/5) and La Petite Grange (sleeps 2/3).

They both offer a very high standard of accommodation of an open plan design with corner kitchen/dining area and lounge. Bathroom/WC or shower room/WC, have private balcony or terrace and BBQ area. Utility room with washing machine and tumble drier, communal play room and use of gardens. There is also private parking. There is a shared pool with sun deck having fantastic mountain views.


ACTIVITIES: This is a great area to explore and is an ideal base for walking, cycling, the cols of the Marie Blanque, Aubisque and Ischere, fly fishing, great trout fishing, some of the best fishing in France, close to the Gaves d'Oloron, d'Ossau and d'Aspe, skiing, the resorts of La Pierre St Martin, Gourette and Artouste.

There are also adventure parks, swimming at Aquabearn, horse riding, bird watching a great variety of birds of prey, including vultures, eagles, etc, rock climbing, white water rafting, canoeing, parapenting. You can explore the Gorge de Kakouetta, drive to Spain in less than an hour or visit the beaches on the Atlantic coast at Biarritz, St Jean de Luz and Cap Breton, less than 2 hours drive away. Indulge in the local salt spas at Salies de Bearn and Eaux Chaudes.

For an exciting evening out try the casinos at Salies de Bearn and Eaux Bonnes. The mountains, pine trees and waterfalls make this a stunning area to visit where there is plenty to do and see.
