Two bedroom Gite and Chambres d’ Hôtes - Open all year round
Built of stone, with walls up to one metre thick and a traditional Charentaise porch, the oldest part of the house is at least 400 years old, while the newer parts were mainly built during the lifetime of Napoleon! The original building is said to have been a small garrison, going back 600 years, with windows in the cellar and roof areas shaped as embrasures.
The Gite offers quiet, comfortable accommodation with modern services, in a country setting where you are as likely to see a tractor as a car.

2 Bedrooms with queen size double beds, wardrobes etc. Second bedroom also has a double Futon and single put-u-up. In total, can sleep 4 adults plus 3 children.
Living room/kitchen; table and 4 chairs, sofa, armchair, 4 ring cooker/oven, microwave, 2 door fridge/freezer, toaster, electric kettle, cutlery, crockery, cooking vessels, iron, ironing board, etc.

Mobility: The Gite suits people with specific mobility needs. There is car access to the front door; no steps to enter the house; doorways admit wheelchairs (smallest is 29inch/74cm wide); there are no stairs, with bedrooms and bathroom at courtyard level, with a threshhold of 3cm to enter either bedroom.
L’ Abeille is situated in Tarsac, a tiny hamlet 10 Km from Angouleme and 15 Km from Jarnac. Just north of the N141. We are approximately 1 hour 15 minutes south of Poitiers airport and 1 hour 30 minutes north of Bordeaux airport.
Prices
From Saturday to Saturday, arriving at 4 pm departing at 10 am, payable in Sterling, or Euro equivalent.

Reservations spanning two cost periods will be proportioned. Rates for longer winter periods are negotiable – we are open all year round.
Central heating is charged at £20 per week on Gite rates, but is included in Chambres d’Hôtes rates.
Welcome pack: recommended, as supermarkets close at 7 pm on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays. We can supply an order form and charges are at cost, with no mark-up.

Deposits: Gite reservations - 25% of the total cost, plus a £50 breakages deposit is requested on booking, with the final balance payable eight weeks before the start of the holiday. Chambres d’Hôtes reservations - £10 per night.
