New-build Villas, Apartments and Townhouses

Cape Verde was featured on Channel 4's "20 Best Places To Buy in the Sun"

This stunning archipelago, about 445Km off the coast of Senegal, is the nearest tropical island location for Western Europe and with year-round sunshine, fantastic fishing and great watersports, it a taste of the Caribbean.

Discovered by Portuguese explorers around 1460, the Cape Verde archipelago comprises a total of ten islands, nine of which are inhabited. Located 450 km off the coast of |Senegal in West Africa, the islands are on the same latitude as the Caribbean and are some five and a half hours flying time from N. Europe. The climate is tropical and dry with air and sea temperatures some 3 degrees warmer than the Canaries. Sunshine levels are 10-12 hours per day, providing an average temperature of 25C (a high of 27C and a low of 22C). Sea surface temperature varies between 22C and 25C and what little rainfall there is (about 260mm) occurs mainly between the months of August and October. It can truly be said that Cape Verde enjoys 'summer all-year-round'.

Sal
is among the most unspoilt of the Islands. Long white sandy beaches and blue sea make it hugely popular with swimmers, sunbathers and windsurfers. It is virtually undiscovered by tourists and it's possible to stroll along the beach for an hour and meet only a handful of people. It's the most barren of the islands and measures just 30km long and 12km wide, with swathes of sand interspersed with brown plains. Leisure pursuits are varied. Fishing available all year, but best between July and October. Diving is popular as there are many caves, tunnels and reefs. Cycling and hiking are also popular as is surfing in Ponta Preta in the south. For the less energetic, there are bars and restaurants in the towns.

Santiago is far more developed than Sal, but is still and idyllic place to visit. Praia, the capital, has bustling streets full of bars, artisan centres and restaurants - music is a way of life in Praia, so the nightlife is superb. Much of the island is rainforest with gorgeous plants and trees, and if you're lucky, you can see wild monkeys in the more secluded areas.
The old city of Cidade Velha is of historical interest. Leisure activities are more limited on Santiago: diving is only available in Tarrafal, in the north. Hiking along coast and country and fishing with the locals are a must. Surfing is better on Sal.

Property prices are currently low, with beach-front apartments available from around only 60,000. These are expected to rise by 70% within the next two years. Transport links are improving; a new airport is being built, bringing flights direct from the UK, making the flight time just over 5 hours, and new roads are being built on most islands to accommodate the expected influx of tourists.

All property in Cape Verde offers an excellent investment opportunity and each development has its own individual attractions. We are pleased to be able to offer property on four islands in Cape Verde.
